Arkansas Bride: Lacey Mott Smith

Although we don't recommend standing near a heard of wild animals, we do agree with photographer, Hillary Johnson that these pics are very memorable.  :)  Pretty, pretty bride, lovely gown and knocked out bouquet, too!

Lacey Mott and Justin Smith exchanged vows November 2, 2013 in Austin Texas.  The newlyweds enjoyed a reception the next week at Crystal Bridges Museum.

Join us in welcoming Bean Snaps Photography to the blog!  Hillary had this to share with us about this shoot:
"This is an Ozark bridal session at it's finest.  It was photographed at Bear Hollow Ranch right across the Arkansas border outside of Pineville, Missouri.  Lacey wanted to take advantage of this amazing location on her family owned property.  The ranch has many animals, some of which are exotic and include bison and elk, which are shown in a couple of the photos.  Lacey was one brave girl getting super close to the animals all for the sake of a memorable picture.  I hope you enjoy seeing these classic bridal portraits."

Y'all enjoy the rest of this Wintery Arkansas day.  Stay warm and safe.  And. . . GO, BRONCOS!!!

XOXO,
Deborah

Happy Thursday, sweets!  Y'all are in for a treat today, if we do say so ourselves. :)  We recently visited with Kristen Prince, managing partner of Zoë Photographic Group in Searcy about an event you will def want to know about!  They are hosting a Bridal Open House this weekend and we're tickled TWP pink to share all the deets with ya'll!. Brides, be sure to make plans to attend!  It sounds like so much fun AND (drum roll, please) they are giving away some amazing prizes!
TWP: We want to know more about the Open House this weekend. Tell us what brides can expect.
Zoë: We’re excited to be hosting our Third Annual Bridal Open House this Saturday, February 8thfrom 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.!  We are opening up our loft studio in downtown Searcy and have invited some of our favorite vendors to join us.  It will be an intimate event, as compared to some of the huge bridal fairs.  We invite brides to come and have really good conversations with our vendors.  We know they'll leave THIS event with ALL their questions answered.  Most of the vendors will have special incentives for the brides who attend and all of them will be giving away great door prizes.

TWP: Aren’t you guys giving away some pretty amazing prizes?
Zoë:  We are!  Every year, we seem to add to what we give away.  It’s just so fun to make a bride's day!  This year, we’ll be giving away a custom, engagement session valued at $650 as a door prize on Saturday.  And, we’re even more excited about a contest that will be kicked off at the event!  Brides who attend will be able to leave a short video telling us their love story.  After the event, we’ll choose several finalists whose pictures we’ll post on Facebook for voting.  Votes will determine the lucky bride who wins an entire Zoë Wedding Collection valued at $2,650!  We encourage brides to bring their groom, mom, made of honor and anyone else who is special to them!  But to keep things fair, only brides are entered to win door prizes. :)

TWP: Oh my goodness gracious, that sounds so fab!  I especially love the Facebook contest! Sounds like such a blast. Tell us a little bit about your team, Kristen.  I think our readers would love to know more about y'all.
Zoë:  Okay!  Zoë Photographic Group is a full service studio made up of several photographers, a graphic artist and myself.  Kim Boyd leads our wedding division, Zoë Weddings.  We asked Kim to join our team over two years ago specifically with weddings in mind. Prior to that she led her own photography company.  We had noticed that her wedding work really stood out and were not surprised to find out that weddings were her favorite to photograph.  Kim is amazing at capturing relationships and she LOVES working with brides.  She is crazy about weddings and looks forward to each with as much excitement as if it were her own.  She loves what she does and her excitement is contagious.  Brides fall in love with her and she gets so attached to them.  She is perfectly suited to lead Zoë Weddings and we are so blessed to work with her.

TWP: Yeah!  Kim is fabulous.  We have featured her work several times on TWP and have always gotten great feedback.  We adore her images. :)

Zoë: Oh, thanks!  We feel so blessed to have her on our team.

Alrighty then.  How fun is that info?!!!  You are welcome, by the way.  ;)

Brides, you can get to know a little more about Kim by watching the video below. . .

And, just a few more pics.  Love Kim's work. . .

So there you have it.  Y'all don’t need to miss this fun event!

The Bridal Open House is THIS Saturday, February 8th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Their loft studio is located in downtown Searcy at 213C West Arch Avenue.  When you arrive, make your way up the stairs and enjoy all the excitement!

Don't miss this FUN, brides!

Styled Shoot: The Mountains are Calling. . .

Sooo happy to finally be sharing this fun shoot with y'all!  Our very own Anne-Claire, who also operates Anne-Claire Allen Planning & Design, was fortunate to spend several weeks in Crested Butte, Colorado recently.  While there, she teamed up with Chris and Nancy, the ever so talented duo at Christopher Nolan Photography, to create this magical shoot!

Here's a bit more from Anne-Claire on just how they brought this shoot to life:

"When we (Christopher Nolan Photography + I) embarked on this adventure, to shoot in the middle of the Rocky Mountains that is, we knew it would be well worth it!  After all, there are very few places in this World that are as awe-worthy as the jagged and rugged peaks of the radiant Rockies!  Somehow these monstrous mountains still provide an unexplainable calming from their overwhelming beauty and paired with a beautiful bride and our talented team, we knew we had something up our sleeves!

Set right outside the charming town of Crested Butte, Colorado, we found a lovely little spot along the Slate River in the Gunnison National Forest. Despite many challenges and absolutely freezing temperatures, we wanted to incorporate the natural beauty of the Fall (fiery Aspen trees + intricate Aztec patterns) alongside the signs that Winter was slowly rolling into town (snow capped mountains + lots of furs).  With a paper suite and details galore personalized by Wood Chick Studios it all tied together perfectly!

Ultimately, I aimed for an inspirational shoot that epitomized the elements of Colorado's natural beauty while staying somewhat soft and feminine.  With the help of our fearless models, a photography duo (Christopher and Nancy Nolan) with unending talents and a picturesque backdrop framed by unending evergreens and rolling mountains, I couldn't have asked for a better day and images that I dream will touch many hearts and inspire many minds!" -Anne-Claire

Today, we have the super sonic privilege of introducing you to yet another fabulous Arkansas photographer!!! (We love our jobs.)  Meet Cassie Jones. . .

Isn't she just the cutest?!!  We're pretty sure you're gonna enjoy getting to know this cheerful and talented photog, so here ya' go:

TWP: Can you tell our readers a little bit about yourself?
Cassie: Sure! My name is Cassie Jones and I'm a wedding photographer based in Central Arkansas.  I'm a wife, a mom, a dance-in-the-car-driver, I sing in the kitchen, play piano and rap like I'm good at it.  I'm an Arkansas native, typical southerner, married to my high school sweetheart, Rusty and we have a son, named Wil.  I love reading, music and traveling.  I'm a Believer, a dreamer, oh, and I LOVE anything chocolate.
TWP: How did you get into wedding photography?
Cassie: I've always loved art in any way, shape or form.  When I was twelve, my step brother married the love of his life and my mom handed me a film camera.  I spent the entire day and evening hiding behind the camera taking photos of the guests, the details, everything.  When we got the film back, I was in awe at the magic a camera could help preserve.  The way she looked. The way my brother held out his hand, helping her into the limo.  And I was hooked.  It's still amazing to me, how a photo can make a heart remember and it quickly became my passion, to share that magic with others. I'm so blessed to get to do what I love.

TWP: What advice do you have for brides choosing a wedding photographer?
Cassie: Art is an interesting thing. To me, it's not about finding the "better" photographer, because art is subjective.  There is no "better" and there is no "worse" when it comes to true professionals in my opinion. There are so many talented wedding photographers, and I'm honored to call so many of them friends.  There are two things you need to consider when choosing a photographer.  The photographer's work needs to touch you.  Make you feel.  Strike a chord somewhere deep within you so strong, that you can't imagine NOT having them photograph your day.  And the other thing, is connection.  There needs to be that spark for friend-chemsitry.  ("friemistry?" -- new word for the win!) It's great to have an excellent photographer, but unless you have an open, friendly relationship-- you may not get everything you expected out of the whole experience. Finding someone you connect with on a personal level makes the communication easier, and the overall experience so much more enjoyable.  It's like having a friend at your wedding day.  Someone you can have fun with.  Someone who won't add more stress to the day, but rather enhance the joy.

TWP: Tell us about your style.
Cassie: My style is bright, warm, sentimental, a little moody at times, and a lot creative. I do pose my couples, but only in a way that allows them to show their true personalities and let their relationship shine.
TWP: Why do you love weddings?
Cassie: I'm a born romantic.  And while most romance novels portray the wedding or the engagement as the happy ending, I know the truth.  That it's really more like a happy beginning.  There's nothing more beautiful than promising to share life's joys and sorrows, it's trials, it's triumphs, and it's quiet moments in between with someone else.  Someone who loves you for your faults, for your hard lessons learned, and for the good things too, that make up who you are.  It's such an honor to share in that celebration of love and God's richest blessings.

TWP: What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
Cassie: That's easy.  The vows.  It's the heart of the whole day.  The only thing that matters.  The promise between two people and God.  As two people who love one another recite them with voices thick with emotion, I'm usually in the back, wiping tears off my camera.
There you have it, ladies.  You are very welcome, by the way.  ;)

Cassie tells us she still has a few dates open for 2014 so don't delay.  Give her a call today!

Wedding Trends: Hair Embellishments

Seems brides are choosing hair accessories to decorate their lovely locks more than ever.  We noticed the trend becoming more popular last year (in fact several of our favorite TWP bridals donned luscious head pieces), but it appears the trend may be even more popular for 2014. . .
A little lace headband, a spectacular floral halo or a funky fascinator may be just the ticket for you.  We suggest experimenting with different ideas for your bridal portraits but sticking with more traditional options (classic veil) for your wedding.  It's YOUR day though, so we support whatever look defines YOU!

XOXO,
Deborah
