Y'all! Kati Mallory of Kati Mallory Photo & Design is clearly in the business of photography, however, I'm convinced that her side gig is completely blowing our mind time after time. I mean every single time we receive a submission from this gal, we spend half of the afternoon picking our jaw up off of the floor. Today is no exception. Meet Maggie Jo Pruitt and Will Hansen!Maggie Jo and Will are the sweetest! Don't ya think? These two cutie-pies met at the University of Arkansas and are planning for a December wedding in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Here’s their proposal story, as told by the lovely Maggie Jo:
Will and I were with my family and all of my professors at an honors graduate banquet Friday afternoon. It began at 4 pm and we were wrapping up at around 4:55 when Will told me he needed me to go outside with him because he was feeling sick. (He actually was feeling sick from nerves! haha!). So, he led me up the great, big Old Main lawn and he was soooo nervous. I could tell because he's always the center of attention, conversation maker, and just carefree. He looked at his watch and said, "Hey, isn't it 5 pm when the Old Main towers play the Alma Mater?” In case you don’t know, when I was interviewing for Homecoming Court, I said my favorite U of A tradition was when the Old Main Towers play the Alma Mater at 5 pm, and this became a big tag line in all the U of A press releases when I won. That’s when I knew he was about to propose!
We walked up to Spoofer's Stone where he had laid a journal he has kept since we started dating. It was one I gave him when he ran out of pages in his, about a week after we became an official couple. He has been writing about how he knew he was going to marry me in it and book marked several pages that he read to me. He wrote a journal entry when we had first started dating, saying he wanted to marry me more than anything else. We laughed and cried and then he proposed, and I said yes! We had no idea that a mass crowd of strangers had gathered behind us, though! After I said yes, they started cheering like crazy. It was really fun! Many of our family and friends were waiting in a room beside the lawn so they could watch, and then we joined them after for a small/chill celebration.
XOXO,
Anne-Claire
